News / Cocaine dealer bailed
A SHETLAND man has been released on bail after admitting he was involved in the supply of cocaine in the isles.
Paul William Grant, aged 25, of 57 Burgh Road, appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
He pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of the class A drug at Lerwick’s Freefield area and elsewhere between 4 November last year and 25 February.
Grant will reappear for sentencing on 12 December after social work reports have been compiled.
Meanwhile the 29 year old man arrested in connection with a serious assault in Lerwick town centre at the weekend has been released pending further investigation.
Police said a 17 year old was flown to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with leg injuries after he was assaulted in the early hours of Saturday morning on Commercial Street.
On Tuesday a Crown Office spokesman said: “The procurator fiscal at Lerwick received a report concerning a 29 year old male in connection with an incident on 24 November 2012.
“After full and careful consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case by the procurator fiscal, the accused was liberated pending further investigation.”
