Letters / Tired of demonisation
Open reply to Robina Barton
Dear Robina,
I am happy to confirm that all and any findings of the health study will be made public, if I have anything to do with it.
I have already explained that Viking Energy did not “ditch” the health study. As I understand it, they found themselves unable to proceed at that time because there was so little data available.
Since then there have been some more studies, including the interesting American one which you recently sent me. I spent a lot of time looking through it and sent you my conclusions.
I have explained that the trust’s own study will consider this and other papers. I think that is a reasonable position to take and am sorry if it upsets you.
You may put any construction you wish on my comments to Andrew Halcrow. I am indifferent, but I will confess to growing rather tired of Sustainable Shetland’s persistent demonisation of anyone who disagrees with it.
But this has been the pattern since 2008 and I suppose I should be used to it by now. Y
our comments on my epistolary style I take as a compliment and I thank you for it.
With best personal wishes, as ever.
Yours sincerely,
Jonathan Wills
