LERWICK man James Douglas appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday charged with assault to injury.

The 29 year old, who lives at 116 Sandveien, is accused of punching another man on the head, placing a ligature or rope around his neck and striking him on the head with a coffee table.

The assault is alleged to have taken place last Saturday at Lerwick’s Stanegarth.

Douglas made no plea and the case has been continued until 13 December.
