Doubling the capacity?

Regarding the cost of interconnectors from the isles of Lewis and Shetland to the UK mainland, it is perhaps worth pointing out that some people have been calling for a doubling of their megawatt capacities (among them, in the case of Shetland, a representative of Aegir or Vattenfall, I believe).

I shudder to think of the additional cost implied.
