Letters / Those Nasty Nats
I have read in the letter columns of last week’s Shetland Times the latest rabid anti-SNP rant from our constituency MSP, including the old chestnut of the allegation of “cutbacks in (the) ADS”.
In actual fact it was those “Nasty Nats” down at Holyrood, that is the duly elected Scottish National Party government in Edinburgh, who this year extended the scope of the Air Discount Scheme to include Loganair’s summer service to Bergen in Norway.
Those Shetlanders enrolled as members of the ADS who were thus enabled to access lower fares on flights to Norway this summer did so thanks to this decision by the SNP government.
Sadly, Tavish does not even have the good grace to publicly acknowledge the fact of the SNP’s inclusion of the Bergen service in the Air Discount Scheme.
