News / Energy minister visits next week
THE SECRETARY of State for Energy and Climate Change, Ed Davey, will be in Shetland for a 24-hour visit early next week.
The LibDem MP will fly in on Monday evening to participate in a civic dinner in Lerwick town hall.
On Tuesday he will pay a visit to Viking Energy, debate with pupils at Brae High School, and visit Total’s gas plant construction site as well as Sullom Voe Terminal, before learning about Scottish and Southern Energy’s smart grid scheme. He will also drop by local MP Alistair Carmichael’s constituency office, in Lerwick.
