News / Seriously injured
A FIFTY year old man is seriously ill in hospital after a two car road crash just north of the Brig o Fitch junction, north of Lerwick, around 10.20am on Thursday.
The man had to be cut free from his vehicle by fire crews from Lerwick and Scalloway using two sets of cutting equipment.
The road was closed for three hours while police carried out an investigation, with traffic diverted through the Tingwall valley.
A police spokesman said the man’s current condition was stable, and they appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact Lerwick police station on 01595 692110.
