Leaving by the north mooth
ON SATURDAY night observers and passengers may have wondered why the NorthLink ferry Hrossey was leaving Lerwick harbour via the north mouth.
Harbourmaster Calum Grains explained that the ferry’s master Willie Mackay was making the manoeuvre to maintain the part of his skipper’s ticket that allows him to come and go from Lerwick without a pilot. He was caught in the act by local photographer Austin Taylor.
