ADVENTURER Andrew Baldwin has been reported well on his way to Iceland where he plans to turn his ocean going craft into a road vehicle and drive around the the volcanic landscape. (Sailor plans driving boat around Iceland; SN 10/7/12).
Baldwin checked into Lerwick harbour last week in his self built vessel Scary Mary.
On Friday he was spotted by the Scottish marine protection vessel Hirta 60 nautical miles west of Sumburgh Head.
The Hirta’s crew called up on VHF radio wishing Baldwin safe passage as he made a respectable four knots in a moderate northerly breeze.
