Letters / Like it or lump it
In reply to Robina Barton (Done his maths; SN 15/5/12):
I have replied to Andrew Halcrow a few times and he knows my views on what I think of Sustainable Shetland.
He has created a very nice letter asking some questions again, but he continues to avoid the FACT that planning permission has been giving the go ahead by the Scottish government.
He continues to pester SCT and I still can’t figure out why? Does he want SCT to remove their funding, sell their stake and let the private sector build them anyway?
I’m not a staunch supporter of VE, I’m only looking at the whole situation with what I consider “common sense”.
So far SCT have invested approx £3.5 million and now have a project worth on paper approx £60 million, this to me is a phenomenal return. In fact of all the investments SCT have made, this is probably the best.
The Scottish government have given the go ahead, SSE have stated they will go ahead with the project with or without SCT.
As far as I can see we are getting a wind farm, like it or lump it, we just have to decide if we are going to be a partner.
