News / Ministerial exchange
WHILE Norwegian prime minister Jens Stoltenberg prepares for his two day visit to Shetland this week, Scottish first minister Alex Salmond is in Norway for two days of talks about energy.
On Monday Mr Salmond was addressing an international renewables conference in Bergen.
He has already had talks with the consortium behind NorthConnect, an interconnector between Scotland and Norway linking the UK and Scandinavian electricity grids, whose partners include Scottish & Southern Energy and Vattenfall. Cable route and environmental studies are underway.
More information about the interconnector can be found at http://www.northconnect.no/
