News / Mossbank house made safe after gas fears
SHETLAND police have removed a 100 metre cordon around houses and a pub in the village of Mossbank after a potential gas leak was made safe.
Police, ambulance and fire crews from Lerwick, Brae and Hillswick raced to the house near the Welcome Inn following reports of an incident.
People inside the Welcome Inn and neighbouring houses were evacuated.
A man was discovered in the property and was taken to Lerwick’s Gilbert Bain Hospital for a medical assessment.
Police say a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal about the incident and thanked the public for their assistance.
