News / Music officer banned

SHETLAND’s music development officer Bryan Peterson has been banned from driving for 20 months after he admitted being three times the legal limit when stopped by police at Sound Brae, in Lerwick, in the early hours of Sunday.

Appearing from custody before Lerwick Sheriff Court the 35 year old was also fined £660.

Peterson, of Holmsgarth Brae, Lerwick, was told that he could reduce the period of disqualification by five months should he successfully complete a drink drivers rehabilitation course.

Meanwhile, sentence on a young woman from Mossbank was deferred for good behaviour until October.

Sarah Herd, of 2 Leaside, pled guilty to assaulting another woman by striking her with a baseball bat to her injury, on Saturday.
