News / Banned driver caught drink driving
A DUNROSSNESS man who admitted taking a car without consent and driving while drunk and disqualified on Saturday appeared in Lerwick Sheriff Court after spending two days in the cells.
Calum Jarmson, of 5 Hazelbank, also pled guilty to driving without insurance and trying to pervert the course of justice by giving police a false name and address. He was only just over the drink driving limit when he was arrested in Lerwick.
The offences took place on Saturday at Hazelbank where the 34 year old took the car, on the main A970 between Dunrossness and Lerwick, and at Westerloch in the town.
Honorary sheriff Arnold Duncan deferred sentence until 2 May for social work reports to be compiled and Jarmson was released on bail.
Sentence was also deferred on a Polish man who admitted shouting, swearing and throwing furniture at his home 112 Sandveien, Lerwick, on Sunday.
Sebastian Wrzos, aged 27, is not allowed to return to his home until his next court appearance on 16 May and has been bailed to stay at 4 Blacksness House, Scalloway.
