Another west Shetland well

VALIANT Petroleum has booked the deepwater drill ship Stena Carron to drill the Handcross prospect, close to the Foinaven and Schiehallion oil fields west of Shetland.

The company believes the reserve holds 180 million barrels of oil equivalent, and the company’s chief executive Peter Buchanan said it was “one of the most exciting high-impact wells in Valiant’s portfolio”.
