News / Country music nights
SHETLAND Country Music Club is putting on a long weekend of Irish music with Shaun Loughrey and best young country star 12 year old Simon Peters.
The two will play a concert at Islesburgh Community Centre on Thursday night (29 March), a concert with dance at the Sound Hall, the following night, and another gig at the Cullivoe Hall, on Saturday night.
Loughrey started his career in 2005 in response to the deaths of his parents, singer/song writer Johnny Loughrey and his wife Mary.
Since then he has recorded five successful albums and won the Sunday World newspaper DVD of the year award for his ‘A Musical Journey’ DVD.
Peters started his recording career at the tender age of nine. He has already a distinguished career under his belt with performances at the Country Fest in Letterkenny and also at the Midnight Jamboree, in Nashville.
Tickets cost £15 (£13 for club members) and are available from www.shetlandboxoffice.org
