News / Schools music festival
MORE than 1,000 schoolchildren will be taking to the stage next week for the annual Shetland schools music festival.
The festival runs from Monday to Thursday and culminates in a gala concert on the final night at the Clickimin Leisure Centre.
Solo, duet, choir and group performances from primary school age children at Lerwick Town Hall and Clickimin Leisure Centre will be adjudicated by recently retired local music instructor Neil Morris.
The junior and senior ‘Young Musician of the Year’ competitions will this year be judged by Orkney instrument teachers David Griffiths and Brian Jones.
