TWO ENTRIES with a Shetland connection are waiting to hear how they have done in the first ever Nature of Scotland awards, organised by the RSPB.
The SSMO Marine Spatial Management Plan is one of five shortlisted in the marine award category.
Professor Roy Watling, an expert on fungi and author of the 1992 book ‘The fungus flora of Shetland’ is in the running for the outstanding contribution to nature conservation award.
The winners will be announced on Thursday evening during a black tie celebration and ceilidh in Edinburgh’s Balmoral Hotel.
The RSPB said they had received almost 90 entries from across Scotland.
