Lise Sinclair - A Time to Keep -

FAIR ISLE singer and songwriter Lise Sinclair is to release her new album A Time to Keep during a short concert tour that takes her to Kirkwall, Lerwick, Edinburgh and Reykjavik.

Inspired by George Mackay Brown’s collection of stories with the same title, the new songs bring the stories of the famous Orcadian out of the book connecting the past with the present.

She said: that the idea for the album presented itself to her, as she “began to hear these songs on first reading the book, as if they were already there, singing out of George’s clear, lyrical prose”.

Concert dates are:

  • Thursday 8 March – St Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall,

  • Friday 9 March – Fair Isle,

  • Sunday 11 March – Town Hall, Lerwick,

  • Thursday 15 March – Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh,

  • Saturday 17 March – Reykjavík, Iceland.

Tickets cost £8 (£6 concession) and for the northern isles concerts are available from Shetland Box Office on 01595 745 555 or www.shetlandboxoffice.org. The Fair Isle concert is pay at the door.
