News / Clair pipe contract
ENGINEERING firm Subsea 7 has been awarded a £63 million contract to build the pipeline for BP’s multi-billion Clair project, west of Shetland.
The Clair Ridge project is stage two of the development of the huge oil field, and will consist of an oil and a gas pipeline connecting into existing infrastructure.
In October last year, BP announced a £4.5 billion investment in Clair, the UK’s largest oil and gas resource.
Fabrication of the pipeline will commence this year at Subsea 7’s Wick yard, securing around 100 jobs.
