News / Knife man released on bail
A LERWICK man arrested on Saturday night for possession of a knife was released on bail until the end of this month when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday.
Alan Watson, aged 23, of 25 Ladies Drive, admitted that he had a kitchen knife in his jeans without a reasonable excuse when he was stopped by police on foot patrol near his home at around 11pm.
When he appeared in court after spending two nights in the cells at Lerwick police station, Sheriff Graeme Napier deferred sentence until 25 January for reports and released him on bail.
In a separate case 29 year old Craig Gow, of 12d Harbour Street, Lerwick, pled guilty to assaulting his partner at his home on 10 December by pushing her body and pushing her spectacles from her face, all to her injury.
Sentence was deferred until 25 March for him to be of good behaviour.
