News / Further travel disruptions
THE WEATHER continues to cause havoc to transport links to and from Shetland.
NorthLink said its passenger ferry Hrossey would only leave Aberdeen for Lerwick at 2am on Thursday morning, seven hours later than scheduled.
The ferry operator advised that all boarding times will however remain the same. The ferry is now scheduled to arrive in Lerwick at 2pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile the Hjaltland on her southbound sailing tonight will not call at Kirkwall due to the adverse weather condition. She will leave Lerwick at 5.30 pm, as scheduled, and sail directly to Aberdeen.
And the sailing of the cargo vessel Hellier from Aberdeen to Kirkwall and Lerwick, due to leave at 5pm, has been cancelled.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has warned of very strong north westerly winds affecting the northern isles and the north of Scotland overnight from Wednesday to Thursday.
