News / Disabled cash

EXTRA cash for families with disabled children is being made available by the Scottish government to provide short breaks and specialist equipment.

Public health minister Michael Matheson said the package was to help children up to the age of 20.

The cash will be divided into £1.3 million for organisations to apply for grants of between £10,000 and £50,000, and a further £558,450 direct to families in grants worth between  £200 and £500.

The funding is available until February and March respectively.
