News / Scanlon’s new job
HIGHLANDS and islands list MSP Mary Scanlon has welcomed her appointment as Conservative spokeswoman for energy, enterprise and tourism following the election of Ruth Davidson as Scottish party leader.
Mrs Scanlon was the party’s health spokesperson with a particular interest in mental health and old people.
She said: “Energy, enterprise and tourism are all areas of vital importance to communities across the highlands and islands.
“The SNP’s energy policies are rightly being questioned by communities across the region, enterprise will be pivotal as the Scottish economy deals with the financial crisis and the highlands and islands are rightly renowned for the tourism industry and the welcome they provide to visitors from across the world.”
