News / First Eat Safe awards
THREE Shetland catering establishments will this weekend be presented with the islands’ first ever Eat Safe awards by the Food Standards Agency in Scotland.
The Sandwick Baking Company, ESS Support Services at the Petrofac Laggan-Tormore accommodation facility in Sella Ness, and Scoop Wholefoods are all being recognised for excellence in food hygiene and food safety management.
The council’s executive manager for environmental health Maggie Dunne said: “We all like to know that the food we are eating has been prepared with the utmost care.
“This achievement shows how seriously these establishments take this issue and I’m delighted to see that their hard work has been recognised with the presentation of these awards.”
