TWO Shetland health workers have received cash awards to help their careers.

Physiotherapist Lucy Ward received the Cecil Cumming Memorial Award worth £2,720 to complete a diploma in orthopaedic medicine.

Speech and language therapist Shona Hughson was awarded the £2,179 staff development award to complete a course in dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) at Manchester and gain experience in the field in Aberdeen.
