News / Jail threat after sex act

SENTENCE on a young Lerwick man was deferred for reports after he admitted stealing women’s clothing, entering  her and her partner’s  house uninvited, rummaging through clothing and performing a sex act in her bed.

Peter Alexander Hall, of 15 Ladies Drive, admitted the charges when he appeared before Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

The court heard how the couple occupying the house had witnessed from a neighbour’s house the 24 year old moving about in their bedroom, on 27 February this year.

Upon challenging him he ran away through the front door of the property. The police were called and while inspecting the house, the police and the owners found cupboards opened, numerous items of underwear lying around and the bed disturbed.

Procurator fiscal Duncan Mackenzie told the court that Hall had left the house wearing the complainer’s dress.

Defence solicitor Tommy Allan said his client was working the mental health team to find an explanation for his behaviour.

Sheriff Philipp Mann continued the case until 19 October and asked for reports. He told Hall that there was a “fairly significant possibility” that he would end up in prison for his behaviour.
