News / Punches thrown at Brae hall

A NIGHT out in Brae landed a Firth man in the cells over the weekend.

Mark Graeme Smith, of 33 Leaside, made no plea when he appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday charged with assault and criminal damage at Brae public hall in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 22 year old is alleged to have repeatedly punching a man in the head to his injury while he was on the ground, butting another man on the head and trying to punch him, and punching a car bonnet.

The case was continued without plea until 24 August and Smith was released on bail.
