News / Smoke turns out to be steam

EMERGENCY services were called to Brentham House on Saturday afternoon after reports of smoke coming from the building in Lerwick’s Harbour Street.
Police and fire fighters cordoned off the area and evacuated the building before carrying out an inspection with heat sensing equipment.
A police spokesman said that the smoke reported to have come from the building turned out to be steam.
However, the source of the steam was not found despite a thorough inspection.
Residents were allowed back into the building at around 3.30pm.
