A YOUNG Shetland woman was banned from driving for 18 months and fined £850 when she appeared from custody before Lerwick Sheriff Court admitting drink driving and dangerous driving.
Julie Jeromson, of 48 Commercial Road, Lerwick, was two and a half times the legal limit when she drove with no lights on the pavement and collided with a building at the Market Cross, in the early hours of Sunday.
The twenty one year old was told that she had to pass the extended test of competence to get her driving licence back.
Meanwhile, Daniel Carrington, of Ellis Cottage, in Llanwrda, in West Wales, was disqualified for 16 months and fined £500 after being caught behind the wheel while almost twice the legal limit at the Mid Brae Inn, in the early hours of Saturday.
