News / Teenager charged with fraud
POLICE in Shetland have charged an 18 year old woman from Scalloway with a number of fraud offences involving the use of cheques.
Detective sergeant Lindsay Tulloch said he was keen to hear from any business in the isles that believes to have become a victim of the fraud.
He said while many businesses and shop owners in Shetland had already reported the offences, “it is believed cheques have been passed to businesses or persons who may not have discovered the offence or may not have reported it”.
“Anyone who believes they may have been victim to these cheque frauds is asked to contact the police at Lerwick,” he added.
