News / Five reported for drugs offences
FIVE Shetlanders are to be reported to the procurator fiscal for drugs offences after class A, B and C drugs worth £2,000 were seized over the weekend. Police also seized more than £2,000 in cash.
Police said that a 34 year old and a 29 year old woman and three men, 25, 32 and 47 in age, are to be reported for various drug related offences ranging from possession of controlled drugs to being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
A police spokesman said the seizures were “significant” and were part of an “intelligence-led pro-active operation”.
“Northern Constabulary would like to express their gratitude to the general public for their support.
“It is essential in achieving successes like this and officers will always treat information supplied by the public very sensitively,” he said
In addition to the house searches a 25 year man, a 14 year boy and an 18 year old man are to be reported for separate drugs offences.
Meanwhile, police are asking anyone with information to the following incidents to contact Lerwick police station:
- An 18 year old man was assaulted on Commercial Road, in Lerwick, on Friday, sustaining minor injuries;
- Around 25 litres of fuel have been stolen from a boat at the Gremista Marina, in Lerwick, over recent weeks;
