News / Air service to resume on Saturday
FLIGHTS to and from Shetland will resume on Saturday morning after the National Air Traffic Service (NATS) lifted restrictions on most of Scotland’s airspace.
All scheduled flights between Sumburgh and Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Kirkwall will operate.
Customers who have been unable to travel over the last two days can make reservations on these services by calling Flybe’s customer call centre on 0871 700 2000 or Loganair’s Air Discount Scheme helpline on 0844 800 2555.
Flights tomorrow are also available to any new customers wishing to make bookings for travel on the above routes either via the call-centre, online at www.flybe.com or via your travel agent.
Loganair’s commercial director Jonathan Hinkles said: “We’re very pleased to be restoring full service throughout our route network from tomorrow.
“That said, safety is always our first priority and any significant change to the location or intensity of the areas of volcanic ash could lead to further disruption to flights.
“I would therefore like to recommend that customers continue to check our website for any further flight information updates relating to their planned journey.”
