News / New fishing boat towed in
THE brand new 11 metre fishing vessel Bugøyfisk had to call Lerwick lifeboat for help yesterday (Thursday) after running out of fuel eight miles south south east of Sumburgh Head.
The catamaran was on her delivery trip from the shipyard in Macduff to Norway when she ran into trouble.
Lerwick lifeboat launched at 7.35am and was with to casualty just over an hour later.
The Bugøyfisk with two crew on board was then towed to Lerwick where they arrived at 11.15am.
A spokesman for the RNLI said they were able to tow the vessel at a speed of 12 knots due to the type of boat
