Join our Shetland Operations team as a Project Engineer and get involved in a broad mix of engaging, hands-on projects that support the evolving energy sector. You’ll work on complex, high-value engineering activity where your contribution is visible and valued from day one.
In this role, you’ll help deliver large-scale load-in operations and coordinate project engineering and contract delivery across technically challenging scopes. From early tender support through execution, delivery and close-out, you’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle—working closely with clients, specialist subcontractors and our on-site operational teams to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
What you’ll be doing
- Support tender development, planning and mobilisation activities.
- Coordinate project engineering and contract delivery across load-in operations and associated scopes.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and internal operational teams to keep work on track.
- Monitor costs and support commercial delivery, helping to manage budgets and variations.
- Work with HSEQ colleagues to plan and deliver work safely, maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Contribute to close-out activities, capturing lessons learned and supporting continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
You’ll typically have a Structural, Mechanical or Civil engineering background and enjoy working in a fast-paced operational environment where priorities can change and teamwork matters. Experience in SPMT operations, heavy transport or load-in activities would be an advantage, but it’s not essential—we’ll provide training and support to help you build confidence in these areas.
- Organised and proactive, with solid project coordination skills and attention to detail.
- Commercially aware, comfortable supporting cost control and tracking project spend.
- Clear communicator, able to build effective working relationships with customers and delivery teams.
- Safety-focused, committed to doing things the right way and contributing to a positive HSEQ culture.
If you’re looking for a role where you can develop your skills, take on meaningful responsibility and work on technically interesting projects in Shetland, we’d love to hear from you.
