A broad based introduction to general engineering subjects.

The National Certificate (NC) in Engineering Practice is an introductory course for anyone interested in a career in engineering. The course provides a broad-based introduction to general engineering subjects, with a particular emphasis on practical skills and knowledge.


This National Certificate qualification can lead to a job in a variety of engineering sectors or to further training, such as an apprenticeship. (Anyone who has completed this NC will be exempt from the first year of a Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering.) The course is at SCQF Level 5.


Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you will need to demonstrate a genuine interest in practical engineering.
