About the Role
The suitable candidate will be an experienced, competent, electrician, capable of undertaking work to recognised standards. Ideally the candidate will have a marine or industrial electrical background.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that relevant reports and certificates are completed for all electrical works.
- Troubleshoot electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect required maintenance, repairs, or replacement requirements.
- Maintain and repair electrical power generating and distribution systems; voltage regulators engine governors, and equipment; machinery monitoring and remote control systems; power, control and display systems of shipboard equipment and DC propulsion generators, motors and control circuits.
- Conduct statutory periodic testing, including fixed installation, PAT testing, emergency lighting and fire alarms, etc.
Training can be provided where required.
About You – Essential
- Display a positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to get the job done.
- Able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Willing to input into the direction of the department.
- Have a full driving licence due to the various work locations around Shetland.
