I’m asking folk in Shetland to put their trust in me as their MSP because Shetland needs change. The status quo is not working, and the real risk to our future is more of the same.
Shetland needs a seat at the table.
We are rich in natural resources, and as we decarbonise, we must learn from places like Norway and the Faroe Islands to ensure our community benefits from what comes next. That means securing more control over future energy projects, from planning and approvals to community ownership and local content.
It also means investing in long-term solutions like tunnels, fixing housing, and strengthening lifeline transport so Shetland is a place where people can stay, return and thrive. A place where decisions are taken close to home, and where our islands are not at the edge, but at the centre of the North Atlantic.
By working with the Scottish Government as an equal partner, we can deliver far more for Shetland.
Growing up in Shetland
I grew up hocking ida ebb with my mam, Wilma, and fishing in da deeps with my dad, John. As a young person, I was encouraged to work in different jobs from Tesco, Bressay gut factory, salmon farms and the Lerwick museum.
Those years shaped my values: community, fairness and hard work.
My life today
Like many Shetlanders, I left and came home. I studied Geology with Chemistry and worked in the energy industry, most recently in Norway. My husband Callum and I now live in East Voe, part of a strong local community and close to our small business, Haar Sauna.
Why vote for me?
Shetland is my home. It is the community that raised me, gave me an education and a fair start in life. I want to use my experience and skills representing the people that live here to get a fairer deal for Shetland.
We need our next MSP to be a strong voice with the ability to negotiate and influence to make the change our community needs.
Whatever your politics, whether we agree or not, I will always listen and take your case to the heart of government. I will speak openly and always put our community first.
I hope to earn your trust, and I will never take it for granted.
