Community / Watch: rare sight as five planes spotted flying over Shetland

THERE was a rare sight earlier today (Friday) when what looked like five planes flew in formation over Shetland.

They were seen flying roughly in a northwest direction over parts of Shetland such as Hillswick and Voe.

A spokesperson for the Royal Air Force said they were unable to find any information about the sighting.

However there have been reports the planes were from the German airforce.

Alana Paton sent in this video below after seven-year-old Seth Paton spotted the planes flying over Voe shortly before 12.30pm.
