News / Water returns to West Mainland after outage
PARTS of the West Mainland were left without water on Saturday morning after a burst pipe.
Scottish Water were called to a burst pipe in the Tresta area at around 8am on Saturday, which had left homes in the area without running water.
However the outage was repaired at around noon, with Scottish Water saying at 12.55pm that most services were now returning to normal.
The company added its team would remain on site for a short while afterwards, and that bottled water had not been provided to households because of the short duration of the outage.
For some in the area it came at the same time as the ongoing broadband outage, which is now into its second week and not showing any signs of being resolved imminently.
Broadband connections for customers on Vodafone, Sky and TalkTalk was lost on Friday 3 October, with inspections on the damaged subsea cable only set to take place next week.
