A MAN has died after a fire in Gluss, Ollaberry on Monday afternoon.
Fire services in Shetland were called to a house fire in the area around 1pm on Monday.
Four appliances, from Brae, Hillswick and Scalloway, attended the incident, with the final appliance only leaving the scene at 7.20pm.
Breathing apparatus, four hosereel jets and a thermal imaging camera were all used in tackling the fire.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15pm on Monday, 29 September, 2025, we received a report of a fire at a property in Ollaberry, Shetland.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished around 4.25pm.
“One person has been pronounced dead at the scene and formal identification is yet to take place.
“A joint investigation to establish the full circumstances will be carried out.”
