A TOTAL of 36 bowls players came together on Sunday to vie for the George Robertson Memorial Trophy.

The members were divided into 12 triples and then split into a black and a red section.

Teams then played three six-end games against a team in a different section. At the end of the games, two teams had won all three games.

When the shot difference was worked out, both teams were on 11 shots, so the number of winning ends was used to decide the top team.

The team consisting of Nuy Coutts, Norman Manson and Colin Bain had won 10 ends, but on 11 ends won was the winning team of Bob Brandie, Angela Gifford and Alex Elphinstone.

The trophy and gift vouchers were presented to the winning team by Lily Brodie, who represented George Robertson Ltd. The trophy was first presented by Jessie Robertson in 1978 in memory of her late husband.
