MORE THAN 100 stalls are on show at this year’s Christmas craft fair at the Clickimin, which takes place this weekend.

Yala await a busy weekend.

At 104 in total it is the “most folk we’ve ever had so far”, according to Shetland Arts and Crafts Association chair Cecil Tait.

The popular event held its opening night on Friday, with the fair being held today (Saturday) and Sunday too.

The fair – mainly located in the Clickimin’s main hall and bowls room – offers people to the opportunity to pick up a whole range of locally produced items in the build-up to Christmas.

As usual the fair has just about everything on offer, from jewellery, photography and woodwork to soaps, chocolates and knitwear.

Tait added that the annual fair is “hugely” important to the local arts and crafts scene.

“The fact that Shetland folk support it so much – it’s been about 4,000 folk that come along,” he said.

“That’s something else.”

The craft fair is open between 10am and 6pm on Saturday and from 11am to 5pm on Sunday at the Clickimin.

Entry is £2 for adults, £1 for concessions.
