Coronavirus / Health board offers limited walk-in vaccinations
NHS Shetland will be offering a limited walk-in service at Covid vaccinations clinics at the Independent Living Centre in Lerwick today (Friday) and tomorrow.
Anyone aged 18 or over who:
- is a Shetland resident (including returning students and temporary residents) who has not yet had their first dose of vaccine; or
- had their first dose of vaccine in April or earlier and has not yet had their second dose,
Is invited to attend the Independent Living Centre today between 1.30pm and 4.30pm or tomorrow (Saturday) between 8.30am and 4.30pm.
People do not need to make an appointment in advance. Folk have been made aware that depending on demand they may have to wait, or may be given a time to return later in the day.
Everyone who already has an appointment (for either their first or second dose) for Friday or Saturday should attend at the arranged time.
Anyone who had their first dose in May is asked not to attend unless they have an appointment.
NHS Shetland is continuing to run clinics over the next few weeks so “do not worry if you have not yet been called or cannot attend these walk ins”.
Second doses are only given after an eight to nine week gap.
The vaccination team can be contacted by leaving a message on 01595 743319 or emailing shet.covidvaccinationscheduling@nhs.scot
