Coronavirus / Number of positive cases rises by four

NHS Shetland has confirmed that four new positive coronavirus cases were recorded yesterday evening (Monday).

This means that there were 14 cases recorded yesterday. This is an updated figure from the 10 which NHS Shetland initially reported.

The health board said on Monday that no-one with Covid was in hospital.

A spokesperson said another update is expected to be released later.

In order to prevent A&E overcrowding and long waits to be seen, NHS Shetland is also asking that people only attend A&E if they have a medical emergency or a child requires assessment.

For all other urgent care needs, contact NHS24 on 111.

Anyone with symptoms can request a test via the NHS Shetland website.

People are also urged to stick to the current coronavirus restrictions and public health guidance.
