End of the line for Nil Desperandum
ANTIQUATED local fishing boat Nil Desperandum has been broken up and removed from the water at Lerwick’s Hay’s Dock.
The 72-year-old boat, which was gifted to Shetland Amenity Trust by the late James (Pinkie) Wiseman in 2010, was in poor state and its owners decided it was too costly to repair it.
This week Garriock Bros staff started the process of breaking her up.
Her timbers will be salvaged and donated to a local artist and a local furniture maker.
