THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry service between Yell, Unst and Fetlar is running to an amended timetable after the MV Geira developed an engine problem.

Shetland Islands Council engineers are investigating the cause of the problem, affecting its main port engine, and the vessel was withdrawn from service on Monday morning.

An amended timetable is in place and bookings are suspended until 5.55pm. The SIC said it wished to apologise for the disruption to the service.
