News / Dangerous overtaking

POLICE are looking for information after receiving reports of a dangerous overtaking manoeuvre carried out near the blind summit on Lerwick’s South Road.

The incident is said to have taken place on 2 June just before 5pm when a white L.E.F. van overtook a cyclist near the Sound Primary School as it drove out of Lerwick, causing an oncoming vehicle to brake sharply.

Officers are also investigating an alleged incident of vandalism in Lerwick earlier this month.

It was reported that between 7.45pm on 6 June and 7.20am the following day, the rear windscreen wiper was broken off a blue car parked on King Harald Street, opposite to the turning into King Haakon Street.

Anyone with information relating to either incident is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
