News / Ferries cancelled again

ALL passenger and freight sailings to and from Shetland have been cancelled for a second day in a row as strong winds continue to hit the isles.

Ferry operator NorthLink said its schedule will resume as normal on Wednesday, but the Hrossey‘s call at Kirkwall on its way from Aberdeen to Lerwick is currently under review with the possibility of cancellation.

The Helliar freight vessel’s southbound trip on Wednesday is also under review.

On Tuesday morning Shetland Islands Council warned passengers to expect disruption on the inter-island ferries as a result of severe southeasterly gales.
