POLICE are making enquiries into an alleged case of two cars racing near the Tingwall airport thereby forcing an on-coming vehicle to come off the road and collide with a crash barrier.

A police spokesman said the incident happened at 9.30pm on Saturday and involved a blue Volkswagen Golf or Polo, and another vehicle black in colour.

Neither of these cars stopped to provide assistance. No one was injured.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen the two vehicles is asked to contact Lerwick police station on telephone 101.
